Taking the Safe Route

The cost of taking the safe route

And the compensation you will receive

Most people take the safe route in life; they shoot at nothing and hit it every time.

Thinking about this brought to mind what has been happening in our country and what I understand about compensation. The government knows that if they can divorce a person from his past, they can control that person’s future, but if he is willing to take a risk in life it makes him hard to control. I believe life is worth living and we should be willing to take that risk – be not anxious or afraid. Remember the perfect anecdote for fear is knowledge.

We as a people are being dumbed down by our school systems. Many of our citizens don’t even know what type of government we have.

This is one of the reasons we as a nation are in the financial and moral condition we are in. For many years in this country we heard people talking about the Puritan work ethics. As a nation we have lost that work ethic. We have forgotten our roots that the founding fathers gave us in 1776. The government keeps telling us we expect too much. I for one don’t believe that. It’s not that we as a people have reached too high, … no, it’s because we have settled for too little.

At one time in the United States, we took great pride in what we made and how hard we worked. Seeing the way many people are willing to just accept a government hand out because it pays more than they can get in the open market, makes me wonder what caused this shift in our pride and self worth.

I am reminded of the answer given by Benjamin Franklin when a woman asked him what kind of a government the founding fathers had given us. He looked her in the eye and said:

“A Constitutional Republic, if you can keep it”

From our founding as a nation based on Christian principles, we grew to be the greatest nation on Earth. What is so very sad is that most of the people in this country do not even know what a republican form of government is.

On a personal level, I have been conducting a survey consisting of just three questions:

  1. What form of government do we have here in the United States?
  2. Should we change it?
  3. What form would you like to see adopted?

On question # 1 all the answers were consistent; the people who would answer said we have a Democracy! … Wrong!

On question # 2 the answer was – yes, we need to change it.

On question # 3 I found it very interesting because most of the answers I received indicated that they would like a government that did not make and change the laws all the time. They wanted one where the lawmakers were duty-bound to abide and live under the same laws they enacted.

They said by not making or allowing changes that did not agree with the constitution, we could live under a stable government, and not be concerned that what is legal today may be illegal tomorrow.

Unbeknown to the people, the answers I received to the third question I asked, was they wanted “A Constitutional Republic”. This is the very form of government that Benjamin Franklin warned that woman not to let anyone take from her.

I have a question for you: have we gone so far down the road of socialism with it’s mandate of servanthood to the government as not to be able to take back our country from the government elite? The government of the United States was to be a servant, working for the people, not the people as servants working for the government elite.

Even this new healthcare law breaks many of the constitutional laws, regardless of what the courts have said. The present administration makes no bones about it. They do not obey the Constitution and the Congress and Senate do nothing to stop or reverse these unfair laws, except exempt themselves from these laws.

At the end of the Revolutionary War many wanted to make George Washington king. He would have no part of it. He said that they had just fought a great war to get out from under that form of government. His wish was that we would have a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Each of the members of government would serve for a short period of time and then go back to their homes and business and live under whatever laws they enacted. Our government would be a people’s government with only one class – the citizens of the United States.

One of the goals of the government now, as I said at the beginning, is to divorce the voters from their past so that the government can control their future. The very government that is supposed to serve us is doing this!

This is not something that is just now taking place; no we find many examples of this in our schools over the past 50 years. Schools teach the theory of evolution as if it is a fact. In reality, evolution has been proven to be a lie and the scientific community knows this, but it still is being taught as fact.

Take for instance, the whole area of global warming. Again the scientific community knows the truth, but the government wants to promote it so they can increase taxes by campaigning for this farce.

Here is one other thing to think about. School children are taught, that at the time of Christopher Columbus in1492, the people in Europe thought the world was flat. This is one of the most illogical lies that is taught about history.

Should you even think about this for just a moment, it could not be true. If they thought the world was flat, how did Columbus think by sailing west he could get to India? Would he not have known he would fall off the edge? So much of what is taught about history will not hold up under the facts.

Look at what is being said about the Holocaust in Germany during the 2nd World War. There is a big push to deny that it ever happened. This is being done so that the Nation of Israel is denied the right to exist and to get any support for the suffering they have experienced so as to discredit the claims of the Holocaust.

Our government has an agenda to control every facet of our lives, whether it deals with our homes, children or work place; On June 8, 1949, George Orwell published a novel titled 1984. In it, he looked into the future and described what our country and the world would look like in the year 1984. He was not far off.

We now have many of the things in place that he talked about in his book: the cameras, listening devices, censorship of our phones and our e-mail traffic. There is no area of our lives where the government has not intruded. In his book, he talked about gun control. As you know that is a hot topic with government. In the nations of England and Australia all private gun ownership was taken away.

Here is a very interesting fact that you never hear; the crime rate for violent crimes has gone up in each of these countries since the guns have been taken away. You never hear about that when they talk about gun control.

Ayn Rand, a Russian-born American novelist, in 1957 published her best-known work, a novel of courage and self-sacrifice – we are now seeing it come to pass. Two movies have been made on the book. A third will complete the series. I would strongly suggest you go to the library and get the first two, “ATLAS SHRUGGED” part one and part two.

What you will see is a picture of life as it is now. Remember she saw and wrote this in 1957. Hear me on this; what you will see is what is taking place right now. The sad part is I don’t believe she even saw or perceived how bad it is or will be in the near future.

I was at a Marion Area Chamber of Commerce meeting on August 29th 2013. The subject discussed was the recycling of many of our household and business waste or unwanted items. It was shown how by recycling several of our old useless items, we could save a great deal of our monies and reduce the amount that goes into landfills each year.

Listening to the presentation caused me to think about all the members of government. If we could only recycle them so they could be reused in a productive way. This would go a long way to resolve our nation’s problems. It makes no difference which party they belong to. They both believe that once they get elected, … that office is theirs to do as they please.

From the day they get elected, they spend the next few years making sure they get reelected so as to keep the benefits that have become a part of being a government official. They have forgotten that they are elected to serve the people, not the people to serve and support them.

I was listening to the news and the government officials making speeches about how they were each doing a wonderful job for the American public. As they talked, my mind went to the campaign of 1846 between Douglas and Lincoln. They were running for the Senate from Illinois. Douglas spoke first and he spoke on for over 2 ½ hours. By the time he was done, the people were restless. The speeches of these government officials reminded me of the Douglas speech.

After Douglas sat down, Abraham Lincoln stood up and took the platform looked over at Douglas then to the people then back to Douglas, and said: “What Mr. Douglas just said amounts to a Homeopathic soup made by boiling the shadow of a pigeon that died of starvation”.

With that, Lincoln sat down. The newspaper reporters quoted Lincoln’s remarks and just a comment on Douglas. Listening to today’s government officials, I can understand what Lincoln understood.

To sum this letter up, I will close with these words:

Become informed as to what the government is doing. Write the members of Congress and the Senate, call them and e-mail them. As of right now we still have a say in government even though it’s very little. Otherwise you will wake up one day and find out like all the other socialistic countries you have no voice. This could happen here and what I am seeing leads me to believe it is happening right now.

“If you don’t get involved in fixing the problem, you are the problem.”
Don’t settle for the safe route, enjoy life, risk, a little

You think about that!
