Henry Ward Beecher

Christianity works while infidelity talks

Henry Ward Beecher (1813 – 1887) was a leading American clergyman, editor, and abolitionist.

He observed:

Christianity works while infidelity talks. Christianity feeds the hungry, clothes the naked, visits and cheers the sick, and seeks the lost, while infidelity abuses her and babbles nonsense and profanity… “By their fruits ye shall know Them”.

He also said:

The Bible is God’s chart for you to steer by, to keep you from the bottom of the sea, and to show you where the harbor is, and how to reach it without running on the rocks or sand bars.

Looking at what has happened in our country in just the last six years, one can see the truth of these words by Mr. Beecher. The love for Christianity and the moral values Christianity imparts are being torn from our country on a daily bases. The Christian Military Chaplains are not allowed to mention the name of Jesus in their sermons or in prayers, … it might offend someone.

With the push for political correctness, … all of our long held moral values are being stripped away, with same sex marriage and the stupid laws passed in California pertaining to the use of restrooms by either sex in public schools, one would need to wonder, have they let the nuts out of the nut house?

This president has signed more executive orders without the consent of either of the other branches of government than all the other presidents combined. Whats so sad about that is the other branches of government take no action to stop him. By their inaction, they are giving accent to his unconstitutional actions.

There is a verse in the Bible that speaks to this matter. It is found in the book of Revelation chapter one verse one. In our English versions it says:

Revelation 1:1 ESV … part A

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place.

The words (the things that must soon take place) would be better translated (when these things happen they will happen with velocity). The point is we have seen more changes in these six years under this president that have changed our country forever and these changes have been to the determent of our industries and small businesses and the effect it has had on the Military. Sad to say, we still have 3 years of this one man rule, … I fear for the other changes he will put in place.

Little by little as a nation, we have given away our rights under the Constitution. When the United States was founded, it was founded as a Constitutional Republic. With the Congress and Senate not doing their part and the Supreme court rubber stamping the unconstitutional laws this president signs, we could wake up and find ourselves like so many of the third world country’s living under a directorship.

When I think about the words of George Orwell in his book, titled 1984, I wonder is this about to happen here in our beloved United States?

Thousands of years ago, a man named Socrates said: … When the people come to realize that they can vote themselves monies from the public treasury and not have to work for it, they will elect leaders that will fulfill this insanity. The members of both the Senate and the Congress fit the bill of these types of leaders, the constitution is no longer the yard stick we use to enact our laws. The members of the government have learned if they keep giving the monies to these people who do not work, these people will get them reelected and they can keep their positions in government and not have to work either, (for if they were working they would do the job they were elected to do and we would not be experiencing this insanity).

Remember most of the laws the government enacts, they exempt themselves from. Look at the pathetic health care law forced upon us. The Constitution states that everyone is to live under every law, no exceptions, yet the Congress and Senate except themselves from these laws every time. What so sad about that is we the taxpayers keep sending them back to tax us more.

On the news, we keep hearing that things will change after the elections in 2014. I have one question for you, why should they change, regardless of which party holds the power they keep passing laws that restrict the rights of the American people and raise the taxes so they can provide more monies for those that don’t work, they call it equalization. I could make you a long list of the dumb laws that have been enacted by executive orders in just the last six years, but I will list just a few.

  1. Cash for clunkers. (taxpayer monies to replace old cars).
  2. Obama phones. (free phones to the welfare people).
  3. Fast and Furious (ATF gunwalking scandal)

Need I go on, I think you get the picture.

When will the American People wake up? Are we like the frog in the pan of water where the heat is rising, are we going to allow ourselves to be boiled to death? … You think about that!
